The Z Street Speakeasy Band is one of Florida's most unique and fun musical acts to hit the Florida special events market. Based out of Orlando, the team of musicians play traditional music from the 20's, 30's and 40's, but have the unique ability to launch into other contemporary genres of music as well. The group is led by trumpet player and band leader, Mark, who hold BA in music as well as a Masters of Art in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. Currently, he is a full time musician heading up his musical groups along with his wife, Kathy who is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy majoring in vocal music and theatre. Kathy continued her education at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After years of working in entertainment, the two teamed up and began their venture together with their vintage bands. They surround themselves with some of the areas best musicians, and together, they carved a niche in Speakeasy style music. Each event and concert is different, and through the thousands of gigs they've performed, they never tire of it. Mark and Kathy insist that their success is due to the fact that they perform not for themselves, but for the audience. "It's all about the client and their guests." Mark says. "Our job is to give the audience what they want. We go where they want us to go, musically. It makes us happy to see a packed dance floor. Whether the client wants us to stay in the vintage theme all night, or launch into "Uptown Funk", it all good. We want everyone to have a great time." And the good times keep coming, as the band gets repeat bookings year after year.
